The '''Berlin Agreement on the Status of Germany''' is a 2036 agreement negotiated by the [[Oceanic Econo-Political Union]] between the [[Eurasian Soviet]] and the [[United States of Western Europe]] which was considered, for a time, to have prevented the outbreak of the [[Third World War]]. The agreement concerned the status of a now-unified Germany, and stimulated that it remain a demilitarized zone, independant of either the United States of Western Europe or the Eurasian Soviet. Enforcement of the demilitarized zone was provided for by the [[African Confederation]], which was considered neutral at the time, however by the outbreak of the war this AC element constituted no more than a company-strength element and was indeed fully withdrawn from Germany sometime before the [[Invasion of Iran]].
