The '''Western Sphere Hegemony''' is the successor organization to the [[Anti-Authoritarian Treaty Organization]] and the supranational organization that ultimately supplanted those of the [[Oceanic Econo-Political Union]], [[African Confederation]], [[South Asian Free States]], [[United States of Western Europe]], and the [[Free Market Block]] from 2050 after the AATO member organizations signed the [[Baghdad Agreement]]. Most historians agree that the Western Sphere Hegemony was briefly the first true global hegemony, from 2050 to 2054, with the succession of the [[Second Chinese Republic]]. Geographically, the Western Spehere Hegemony reached its smallest global extent in 2077 when the last of its post-[[Third World War]] territories gained independence, though with the signing of the [[Greater Humanity Treaty]] in 2111, the same organization effectively became the [[Terran Hegemony]].

Politically, the success of the Western Sphere Hegemony was in restricting its interventionalism and limiting the scope of its legislative oversight, leaving its member organizations the same political freedoms and powers they had before joining the AATO. At 2050, and like AATO, the WSH did not have its own unique military or intelligence arms, but kept around the AATO intelligence and military alliance frameworks. However, by 2060, the establishment of the Western Sphere Hegemony Court of Military Law in Madagascar had also created the [[Adjudication Joint Fleet]], a military policing and peacekeeping arm that eventually became the central military power of the Hegemony.
