Robotics is an interdisciplinary branch of computer science and engineering. Robotics involves design, construction, operation, and use of robots. The goal of robotics is to design machines that can help and assist humans.
Following the Pripyat Incident, robotics became arguably the focal technology of human development, due to the need for enhanced robotic workforces for use in the Black Desert and other crisis zones. This period, known as the Humanoid Robotics Renaissance, saw the field undergo explosive advancement in the 1980s, 1990s, and early 2000s, and the technology of robotics remained central to civilian and military engineering ever since.
The field of robotics has lead to great strides in manufacturing and automation, but is not without its downsides, best typified by the Lorica armored fighting vehicles that have become a worldwide standard in the years since.
