Lorica Piracy is a phenomenon largely seen only after the conclusion of the Third World War, in which veteran Lorica pilots and ground crews formed private organizations of varying shades of legality acting as mercenaries. While broadly considered to be entirely illegal, especially after the Colonization of the Inner System throughout the end of the 21st Century, it's become all but impossible to fully stamp out the practice.
