The Ghost Company is the popular name given to a unit of seven Lorica-N Cockpit pilots from the Free Market Block who were heavily modified under Project Opus. Surviving both the project and their campaign during the Third World War, the Ghost Company remained a state secret until the Cairo Trials, where they became something of a cause celebre.
The Ghost Company is now best known as a pirate NGO, possibly affiliated with Project Clarity, which has been known to strike military bases within reach.
While the name no doubt stuck due to its poetic justice, in actuality it originated from early photos of the unit in action having been identified as piloting Shield Industries Ghost Loricae.
The ghost company are a unique class of Lorica-N/A cockpit units in the sense that both pilot and compute hardware can be fully removed, if only briefly, from the lorica, which must be done under sedation, and then installed into a different frame type.
