Sack of Beijing
"Hold on, there's something new coming down..."

The Sack of Beijing incident on July 30, 2041 was an atrocity following the supposed conclusion of the Third World War and investigated at the Cairo Trials.
The incident began with the assault and murder of Yasmin Wells, a Free Market Block soldier who was part of the AATO occupation, by unknown local dissidents. In retaliation, several FMB and OEUP military personnel, most notably Lorica pilots, including Lieutenant-Colonel Johnathon Briggs and Special Research Force pilot Kenichi Yokota, took their machines on a rampage throughout the city.
The incident was only stopped when African Confederate Armed Forces military police stepped in and pacified the rioters, and remained a sense of anti-western sentiment throughout the region long after the end of the war, the Cairo Trials at which this incident (among others) was prosecuted, and the formation of the Western Sphere Hegemony.
Kenichi Yokota's use of his prototype Lorica Prima X-04 Defender during this incident is why it alone of the prototype Lorica suits is confirmed destroyed; every other completed suit is on display, in some form or another, as a memorial, whereas the surviving portions of his suit after the incident were scrapped.
