The Berlin Agreement on the Status of Germany is a 2036 agreement negotiated by the Oceanic Econo-Political Union between the Eurasian Soviet and the United States of Western Europe which was considered, for a time, to have prevented the outbreak of the Third World War. The agreement concerned the status of a now-unified Germany, and stimulated that it remain a demilitarized zone, independant of either the United States of Western Europe or the Eurasian Soviet. Enforcement of the demilitarized zone was provided for by the African Confederation, which was considered neutral at the time, however by the outbreak of the war this AC element constituted no more than a company-strength element and was indeed fully withdrawn from Germany sometime before the Invasion of Iran.
