The Republic of England, Scotland, and Wales was one of the states of the United States of Western Europe, formed in 1991 in response to the collapse of the House of Windsor following the controversies surrounding the death of Diana Spencer, and public backlash surrounding the involvement of her husband, Charles Windsor, Prince of Wales. Elizabeth's unilateral move to disinherit Charles and his sons from the Crown of the United Kingdom caused a constitutional crisis which Parliament ultimately resolved with the adoption f the Acts of Reconstitution, creating a republic out of the former United Kingdom, less Northern Ireland, which voted instead to unify with the Republic of Ireland.

The RESW remained independent until the establishment of the United States of Western Europe a few years later in 1993, and since then enjoyed undue influence owing in part to its favourable relationship with the Free Market Block countries.
